Hendon and Golders Green are two of London's most interesting suburbs: the former is most famous for its aerodrome and its aviation pioneers such as Claude Grahame-White.
Hendon has a history that begins with the Romans, and the ares has been tied to the economic needs of London since then.
Golders Green, then not much more than a crossroads surrounded by fields, was the unlikely choice for the terminus of the Northern Line in 1907. By 1912 it was an extensive suburb admired for its clean air and modestly priced houses.
